2017 Acura NSX to boast 573hp, hit 191mph

We've known for a while now that the NSX would use a twin-turbocharged V6 mated with an electric drivetrain, but Acura kept total system output a secret. However, Acura announced on Monday that the NSX will produce a combined 573 horsepower.

Acura says 500 of that horsepower will come from the car's 3.5L V6. The gas motor will also kick in 406 lb-ft of torque. The balance of that 73 horsepower will come from the NSX's three integrated electric motors. Those electric motors bump the NSX's max torque to 476 lb-ft.

Shifting that power through Acura's Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system and a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission, the NSX can hustle from 0-60 in about 3 seconds. The 2017 Acura NSX tops out at 191mph.

Fuel economy figures aren't currently available for the NSX, but it should be one of the more frugal supercars money can buy.

Further details on the 2017 Acura NSX are expected to be announced closer to the car's 2016 market introduction.
