Car Rankings Hybrid Luxury

2016 Lexus CT Hybrid
While the 2016 Lexus CT 200h earns some of the best fuel economy estimates in the class, critics are displeased with its underpowered engine and fussy infotainment controller.
Performance Summary
Powering the 2016 Lexus CT Hybrid are a four-cylinder engine and two electric motors, which reviewers say provide sluggish acceleration. They add that class rivals offer much more power. The CT Hybrid comes with an automatic transmission (CVT) that critics say can be slow to respond when more power is required.
The EPA estimates that the CT 200h gets up to 43/40 mpg city/highway, which is outstanding for an upscale small car. Automotive journalists think the CT Hybrid has composed handling and precise steering. They also like its comfortable ride. When equipped with the F Sport package, reviewers say the CT Hybrid rides more firmly. Some critics are disappointed by the feel of the CT Hybrid's brake pedal.

The Lexus CT 200h's cabin is made with premium materials, some reviewers say. However, others find that its interior materials aren’t of luxury-brand caliber. Automotive journalists agree that the Lexus CT 200h's front seats are comfortable and very supportive. However, critics say the back seat provides poor legroom. With 14.3 cubic feet of cargo space, the CT Hybrid has good room for the class, but some critics say space is tight for a hatchback.
Standard equipment includes a six-speaker stereo, dual-zone automatic climate control, satellite radio, proximity key, push-button start, a USB port and Bluetooth. Available features include a moonroof, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, a 10-speaker stereo system, adaptive cruise control, Lexus’ Remote Touch infotainment system, navigation, Lexus’ Enform App Suite and Siri Eyes Free mode, which lets you access contacts, get turn-by-turn directions and select music from iTunes with voice commands. The CT 200h's available infotainment system is operated using a controller, which auto writers compare to a computer mouse. Some note that the controller is overly sensitive, making it a distraction for drivers.
